Cumulative WPF Patch + SLV 5 Support (04/04/2013) QTPNET_00120 This is a cumulative patch that provides important WPF Add-in fixes as well as some other .NET Add-in fixes. Additionally, this patch improves runtime performance by enabling QuickTest to identify Silverlight test objects more quickly, and it provides testing support for Silverlight 2, 3, 4 and 5.
Add support for Chrome 24 (01/22/2013) QTPWEB_00120 This patch provides support for Chrome 24.
Run Tests from ALM Server (01/18/2013) QTP_00953 This patch enables you to run QuickTest tests remotely (as part of a Functional test set) from an ALM server using server-side execution with the ALM 11.5 Integration Enablement Pack.
Add Support for Firefox Version 17,18 (01/15/2013) QTPWEB_00122 This patch provides support for Mozilla Firefox, versions 17.0.x, 17.0.1 ESR and 18.0.x.
Save to QC/ALM Error Fixed (10/18/2012) QTP_00925 This patch fixes a problem that sometimes caused QuickTest to return the “Unable to save test to QC” general error while saving tests to QC or ALM. This patch also improves QuickTest performance while saving tests to QC or ALM.
Add Support for Firefox Version 15, 16 (09/12/2012) QTPWEB_00112 This patch provides support for Mozilla Firefox versions 15.0.x & 16. Patch dependencies: QTPWEB_00090.
Accumulative Patch for WPF 64b Apps (07/12/2012) QTPNET_00127 This patch updates the QuickTest Professional WPF Add-in with all of the WPF 64-bit fixes made since QuickTest Professional 11.00. This patch is relevant only for those testing 64-bit WPF applications. Patch dependencies: QTP_00699, QTPNET_00120.
Add Support for Silverlight 5 Apps (07/12/2012) QTPNET_00120 This patch installs an updated version of the .NET Add-in, providing testing support for Silverlight 2, 3, 4 and 5. Additionally, this patch improves runtime performance by enabling QuickTest to identify Silverlight test objects more quickly.
Add Support for Firefox Version 13 (06/25/2012) QTPWEB_00105 This patch provides support for Mozilla Firefox versions 13.0.x

  1. Standard 64-bit Windows applications (C/C++ applications)
  2. 64-bit .NET (2.0, 3.x, or 4.0) Windows Forms applications
  3. 64-bit WPF applications
  4. 64-bit Java applications

Note: This patch does not provide support for Web-based applications, such as .NET WebForms, WPF XBAP applications, and Java applets. Supported 64-bit Operating Systems:

  1. Windows 7 64-bit
  2. Windows Server 2008 R2

Note: QuickTest Professional 11.00 is a 32-bit application.

Add Support for Firefox Versions 9,10 QTPWEB_00092 Changes in QuickTest after installing this patch: * New BROWSER_ENV values: FF90, FF100 that let you launch Firefox version 9 or 10 respectively if installed instead of the latest installed Firefox version (when using FIREFOX value)
Faster recording of SAP Web controls QTPSAP_00037 This patch improves the performance of recording steps on SAP Web controls
Add Support for Firefox Versions 4-8 QTPWEB_00090 This patch also includes the support content from QTPWEB_00063 ‘Add Support for Firefox 3.6′ and QTPWEB_00088 ‘Support for Running Steps in Google Chrome’
Support Run Sessions in Google Chrome QTPWEB_00088 This hotfix enables support for testing Web applications using the Google Chrome browser. General limitations:

  1. Recording steps in Google Chrome is not supported.
  2. Web pages that modify Google Chrome’s JavaScript functionality (for example, a Web page that replaces the JSON object) may cause QuickTest to behave unexpectedly.
  3. If you manually uninstall the QuickTest Agent extension using Tools > Extensions, you must manually reinstall it if you reinstall this hotfix.

    4. The following methods are not supported:

  4. Browser.Home
  5. Browser.FullScreen
  6. Browser.ClearCache
  7. Browser.Object

Running steps in the following scenarios is not supported:

  1. chrome://* pages
  2. Multiple tabs
  3. Multiple browsers
  4. Web pages that include frame sets
  5. WebXML test objects
  6. Web test objects located inside iFrame controls with a “blank” or “about:blank” SRC identification property value
  7. Developer Tools pane (Running steps on Google Chrome while the Developer Tools pane is open is supported.)
  8. Web 2.0 test objects or Web Extensibility-based test objects
  9. Web-based environments, such as SAP Web, Siebel, Java, .NET WebForms, and so on
Run Results Viewer cumulative patch [Critical] RRV_00019 This Patch provides the following fixes for the Run Results Viewer:

  1. Fixes a problem in which the Run Results Viewer did not display multiple text lines in the step details area of the Result Details pane.
  2. Fixes a problem in which the Run Results Viewer failed to export run results for business process tests when the test name contained characters that cannot be used in file names (such as ‘<' and '>‘).
  3. Fixes a problem in which the Run Results Viewer failed to export run results that contained special characters that cannot be used in XML files.
  4. Reduces the amount of time it takes to open large run results.
  5. Reduces the amount of time it takes to export large run results.
  6. Displays the data table in results for business process tests created using Quality Center 10.00.
  7. Provides support for multiple icon file types (in addition to *.ico) including *.png, *.jpg, and *.gif.
  8. Fixes various issues that prevented the run results tree from being displayed correctly.
  9. Fixes an issue that sometimes caused the Run Results Viewer to crash.
  10. Fixes Export of Run Results to PDF format for Results with Many Nested Actions or Images.
  11. Show Only the Relevant Data Sheets for Components in Business Process Tests Results.
  12. Run Results Viewer displayed incorrect images for multiple runs of more than one iteration of the local Data Table sheet.
  13. Fixes a problem in which the Run Results Viewer took a long time to download results from Quality Center 10.00.
Support for 64-bit IE Browsers QTPWEB_00086 This patch enables creating and running steps on 64-bit Internet Explorer browsers. Note:

  1. Before installing this patch, you must install the QTP_00699 patch.
  2. This patch does not provide 64-bit support for other Web-based environments, for example .NET WebForms, ActiveX, Siebel, PeopleSoft, Web-based SAP and so on.
  3. The patch does not support selecting the 64-bit Internet Explorer browser in the Record and Run Settings dialog box. Workaround: Either use the SystemUtil.Run method to open the browser or open it manually.
  4. This patch does not provide support for ViewLink test objects in Internet Explorer 9 on 64-bit operating systems.
Support for FarPoint Spread 8.0 COM QTPACX_00010 This patch provides support for FarPoint Spread 8.0 COM. This support is provided as an upgrade of previously supported versions of FarPoint Spread in QuickTest
Add Support for Internet Explorer 9 QTPWEB_00078 This patch provides official support for testing Web
applications in Internet Explorer 9. It includes support for working with Internet Explorer 9 on all operating systems that QuickTest Professional supports
BPT Enterprise Extension 11.00 QTPBPT_00006 This patch enables you to run Business Process Testing Enterprise Extension using QuickTest 11.00 and HP ALM 11.00 (patch 3)
Add Support for IE in Protected Mode QTPWEB_00073 This patch provides official support for testing applications in Internet Explorer when Internet Explorer is in protected mode. It includes support for working with Internet Explorer in Protected Mode on all operating systems that QuickTest Professional supports
Run BPT with Component-Based Settings [Critical] QTP_00821 This patch fixes a problem in which settings that should be relevant only for tests were sometimes applied during a Business Process Test run causing the test to run in an infinite loop. This patch is relevant only when working with business process tests from HP ALM/QC 11.00
Support Stingray Studio 10.4(MFC8/9/10) QTPSTG_00005 This patch enables QuickTest to create and to run steps on objects created with Stingray Studio 10.4
Add Support for PowerBuilder 12 Apps QTPPB_00012 This patch adds support for testing PowerBuilder 12 applications
Updates for HP QTP 11.00 [Critical] QTP_00709 This patch updates your QuickTest installation with fixes for a number of issues found after the release of
QuickTest Professional 11.00. The following issues are being addressed in this patch:

  1. If the QTP_00699 – Support Testing on 64-Bit Applications (For Specified Technologies) patch was not installed on 64-bit operating systems, all .NET 4.0 controls on 32-bit applications were recognized as SwfObjects.
  2. Recovery scenarios did not work in BPT wrapper tests.
  3. Run-time errors were displayed if you ran a business component that contained a QCUtil.CurrentTest.Name step.
  4. Function libraries that were created from an application area, opened in read-only mode.
  5. In Quality Center 10.00, the Parameters of Test dialog box opened when you added QuickTest 11.00 tests to the execution grid.
  6. If a QuickTest test called a Service Test test (and both tests were stored in Quality Center), the run results for the Service Test test were not uploaded to Quality Center at the end of the run session.
  7. If you renamed a QuickTest action after inserting a call from it to a Service Test test, an error occurred during the run session.
  8. QuickTest crashed or an OS blue screen appeared when using a User-Defined / Non-HLLAPI emulator on Windows 7 with Office 2007/2010 installed.
  9. You could not view the baseline history for scripted components that were stored in version control-enabled Quality Center projects.
  10. In QuickTest, if you tried to delete an application area that was associated with one or more components, QuickTest mistakenly opened a message box asking you to confirm the deletion of the application area instead of informing you that the application area is in use and providing you with further instructions. This occurred only if the application area was moved to a different location in the Quality Center/ALM Test Resources module after a component was associated with it.

  1. Embarcadero Delphi 2009
  2. Embarcadero Delphi 2010
Enable Testing for Silverlight 4 Apps QTPNET_00051 This patch installs an updated version of the .NET Add-in, providing testing support for Silverlight 2, 3 and 4
Add Support for SAP CRM 7 QTPSAP_00012 This patch adds support for testing SAP CRM 7 (a.k.a. ICWC 7, Interaction Center Web Client 7)
Support Oracle Forms 11g & Enhancements QTPORACLE_00010 This patch provides:

  1. Support for Oracle Forms 11g.
  2. Enhanced support for OracleTable objects.

Note: when learning a table control in an Oracle Forms application, QuickTest identifies the table columns as being part of a table only if the columns have a description property (usually the column name). If a particular column does not have a description property, then its cells are recognized as separate controls and are learned as separate test objects.

Add Support for Firefox 3.6 QTPWEB_00063 This patch provides official support for testing Web applications in Firefox 3.6
Support for Some Frames in PSFT 8.50 QTPPS_00003 This patch adds support for some PeopleSoft frames in PeopleTools 8.50

Some of my QTP scripts executed from QC, accessing data on an SQL database are for some reason entering a continuous loop and cannot exit the script. All counters are working and other variables are getting set to the correct values, but the code just loops through the data table continuously. As stated, the looping behavior occurs only with some of the scripts. Some complete successfully and a coworker is able to execute all of the scripts with all of them passing with no difficulty whatsoever. I am running QTP and QC 11.0 over a .NET 4.0 framework and a Windows 7 OS. The coworker is running QTP and QC 11.0 over a .NET 3.5 framework and Windows XP. I know there are not supposed to be any incompatibilities between Windows 7, .NET 4.0 and the QTP/QC version 11.0, but my difficulties have me wondering. I would appreciate any help anyone can provide that will solve my looping dilemma. Thank you.

HI,

I am trying to run bluk run some BPT components on QTP 11.0 from QC 11.0, which are been developed on QTP 10.0.

After running 2 or 3 test scripts ( combination of more than one BPT components ) QC is showing an error “Unable to close the unsaved comments”

I hope it is an issue with running the script on QTP11.0 which are been developed on QTP 10.0. Do we have any patches to make the scripts run smoothly on QTP11.0 ?

I have to automate a application which is having stingray grids, I installed ‘QTPSTG_00005′ patch on my QTP-11 after that QTP start identifying the grid as stingray gird, but its not allowing to do any operation on it like rowcount(), columncount(), getcelldata() etc., none of the methods are working. Please let me know how to solve this issue.. Thanks, Pravin

QTP is not recognizing AtmosFox Addin from firefox. I tried with Extensibility Accelerator as well. Do you have any idea on this? Firefox version is 17. EA version is 11.

Is there any patch file available for this?

QTP is failing to identify drop down object of silver light application.
When i record or spy the object it is getting stored in the OR.
But when i highlight the same it is not identifying the same.

Even I tried descriptive program to resolve my issue which of no use again.
Moreover QTP is identifying drop down as button.(I have silver light add-in also)

Please help out.

I had a similar issue on a VM, and when I uninstalled the Cirtix client, the Silverlight objects were identified correctly.

I need patch QTP_00850.

Can’t find it anywhere….do I really need to beg HP Support for it?

Seems these things should be publicly available…or hey, how about all patches are automatically installed into the product where they belong..you know, like Windows patches.

I have to beg support to make their product work, when the solution already exists? Really?

Hello Friend,
I am also facing the same problem.
I am using QTP 10.0 in Win 7 64 bit O.S
Usually, my framework runs multiple scripts in a batch.
But every time, QTO crashes after executing some scripts. Sometime after 4 scripts sometime after 14.
It display the error message in a pop up that “Quicktest professional has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working properly. Please close the program”
Please help.

QTP 11 is not responding even after installing. QTPWEB_00078.
OS : Windows Server 2008R2
IE9 – 64 bit
Do we have to install QTP_00709,QTPWEB_0086,QTP_00699 as well…

Patch QTP_00925 “Save to QC/ALM Error Fixed (10/18/2012)” works a treat and addresses a long-standing annoyance when trying to develop in QTP using QC as a repository.

Hi,

I need to automate a desktop application with QTP 11 with Silverlight 5. I have downloaded QTPNET_00120 patch to identify Silverlight objects.

Can anyone let me know where we could get QTPWEB_00120 patch file.
I searched HP site and could download only the former one and not the latter.

Hi Anshoo,

can u please help me to identify and fix problem related to Batch runner

Problem:-
1. Opened Test BAtch Runner tool (QTP 11)
2. Added few scripts which are on my local drive
3. Clicked Run
Got error :- “Can not open Test”

Same error occured when QTP App was already open and was not opened while running batch runner

I downloaded and installed two patches . A patch for the latest firefox version and the other for the chrome browser. After that QTP stopped identifying IE browser :) . I had to uninstall QTP and install it back all over again. Did this happen to anyone else ?

I tried to download this patch but I am being asked for the Contract SAID. What do we mean by Public Patch? I assume we dont need a contract with HP to download these patches. Am I wrong here?

Hi Anshoo,

I have a similar kind of problem. I have QTPNET_00099 patch on top of QTP 11.0. This patch i got when i raised a concern with HP that the objects of Visual Studio 2010 are not identified with QTP 11. With this patch sometimes while spying QTP completely hangs. Could you provide me a solution for this?

Pls look at below query:

my query is How to retrieve objects from a WPFGrid control in qtp. when spying, qtp is identifing only the WPFGrid and note the objects inside it. pls suggest workaround for this

WpfWindow(“title”).WpfTable(“title”)

Inside the wpftable there are four columns and some rows. first column contains chechboxes. i want to check/uncheck that. anything inside the wpftable are not recognized by object spy

I have installed QTPNET_00127 but my issue is not resolved.

We are testing wpf application on Windows 7, 64 bit .Net 4.0 environment using QTP 11

In that application there is a wpftable. inside the wpftable there are some columns and rows. each cell in the wpftable contains some objects like checkbox, picklist etc. we are not able to get the control on the objects in the wpftable. when spy not shown any object inside the wpftable.

on spying the checkboxes (or on spying any other object) in the wpfgrid, getting the below hierachy

”WpfWindow(“title”).WpfTable(“dataGrid”). ”

but it should be ”WpfWindow(“title”).WpfTable(“dataGrid”).wpf(“checkbox”).”

Reference for checkbox is not coming while adding (or spying) the objects inside the wpftable

Pls let me know how to get contol on the objects (checkboxes, picklist etc) in the wpftable. we need to check/uncheck checkboxes etc

Use of ‘Automation Pattern’ will resolve the issue? can you share some example of how to use it

Amit, the patch you have installed has dependencies on 2 other patches: QTP_00699, QTPNET_00120. Have you installed them both? If it still isn’t working, I would suggest you to create a case with HP support..

Thanks for the reply. I have installed all the patches as mentioned by you but it is not working. we logged issue with HP. I want to ask another question related to it

As per the QTP help file, below code should click in the specified cell (in the wpftable).

WpfWindow(“title”).WpfTable(“dataGrid”).SelectCell 0,1

If there are checkboxes in the mentioned cell, how can these be checked/unchecked..
similarly, if we have picklist in the mentioned cell, how can we select different values in that picklist.
above code will only highlight the mentioned cell. it will not perform any action on the objects inside the wpftable. for webtable we have childitem method available, by which we can perform action on the objects inside teh table. what will be the approach for the wpftable

Have you encountered problems w/ QTP 11 not recognizing WpfWindow objects ? My AUT contains such objects which I manually add to the local repository. However, QTP then shows an error dialog when I attempt to ‘Highlight in Application.’ Thanks for the reply

Jim: I believe you should open an HP for it. QTP not recognizing objects even after the applicable patch generally means a custom implementation for the target object or something wrong with the system/QTP installation etc.
